I have a personal Substack. Now let’s start a business one?
I think what I’ve been missing over the past few years is slower, longer form connection online. It feels like things get lost on the internet and the increasingly fast paced nature of online connection is just not my speed.
Things have changed for our business over the years. Things have gotten way harder, and I’m looking forward to some change.
I miss feeling like I’m running this thing on my own terms. Increasingly it feels like we do what we must to keep up with the fast pace of what social media online based businesses demand.
But right now, I’m choosing to say no. To slow down. To change speed and direction.
If you’ve been here a while you’ll know that I have certainly resisted and slowed down a lot on Instagram specifically over the past few years. My heart is just not there. I want to share beautiful images, but more than anything, I want to share words and connect. And that is hard in a tiny caption mostly driven by whatever the platform’s latest media technological trend is (looking at you, REELS!)
So, thanks for being here with me! Instead of sending long form things through our regular newsletter, you’ll find them here. Think of our Substack like a blog / journal, not a salesy newsletter. Scents and feels. That’s what we’re here for, plus good vibes all around. Maybe I’ll call it that.
